UK Commemorative Coin Design: vote Lara!

The Royal Mint is currently looking for suitable themes to appear on the United Kingdom commemorative coins for 2010. Images of famous and important figures from the UK would be stamped onto their 50p, £2 and £5 coins.

Lara Croft is undoubtedly one of the most famous characters originating from in the United Kingdom, making her debut in computer game Tomb Raider. Developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive, who are both British companies, the original plans for the Tomb Raider main character were to break the norm of American male heroes. Thus a British female archaeologist was conceived.
