Having been one of the lucky gamers to get my hands on a ‘Piggyback Guide’ for ‘Tombraider Legend’ I find it impossible not to share the delights within. It only takes a swift glance at the cover to know you’re in for a treat with this one and as the cellophane wrapping is removed and the aroma of print hits your nostrils, you know your going to get completely sucked in. Its ease of use is obvious right from the start with a simple tab system for a quick search of information. Be it that you’re looking for a step by step guide, secrets, or tactical analysis, it really is all at your fingertips.

As well as a detailed chapter on ‘Controlling Lara’, there is also a back cover fold out with an ‘at a glance overview’ of basic button commands for all game formats. Covering Playstation, Xbox Xbox360 and PC, all bases are covered.  PC controls could have been given in more detail. I wonder if consoles really are ready to take over the gaming world just yet!

With 2D maps to assure you through your darker gaming moments and detailed walkthroughs to enhance your game time, how much more could you want from a guide? And yet ‘Piggyback’ manage to deliver, adding the icing on the cake with fabulous interviews from the Crystal Dynamics Team (with spoilers included for those who are still playing the game) and a history of past Tombraider adventures too.

For the Novice Raider: It’s an excellent companion, opening up a whole new world of Tombraider. For the Intermediate Raider: It holds a wealth of information to enhance your gaming experience. For the Veteran Raider: It’s a highly collectable companion and a joy to own.

On a final note: Its 198 pages of affordable quality, which every Raider just can’t live without!
